If you know spriteCloud, you know about our great reputation when it comes to providing expert software testing solutions to clients of all sizes. You might also know what our website looked like and how it was pretty outdated. ‘Was’ being the key word there.

After several years putting marketing aside to focus on other aspects of our business, we’ve recently decided to hire a full-time digital marketer to help bring our products and services to market. The first order of business of this marketer was updating our website; our digital ‘store front’ and our first point of contact for many people when they first learn the name spriteCloud.
The decision to update the website was made for several main reasons:

  • It’s 2019, but our website looked like it came out of 2009
  • we are known for our high-quality work, but our website definitely did not give that impression
  • we were simply tired of looking at it

The old website design served us well but now we must bid it farewell as we move into a new year and a new purpose. Using the Wayback Machine from https://web.archive.org/, we were able to look at previously crawled and cached versions of the spriteCloud website dating back to about 2009-2010. It’s always nice to see where we came from and look to where we are going.

2009
spriteCloud was founded in 2009 so this was the first website that represented the company. It’s simple but clear and to the point.

2015
After six years, the website got its first redesign and it became a lot more visual. Much of these visual elements would make their way to our brochures as well.

2019
The latest redesign. We wanted to keep the website visual but also have a lot more opportunity to explain what we do as a business and encourage potential clients to get in touch with us. Our marketer also needed the flexibility to make changes to the website and its content easily, so we went with WordPress.
