About
Founded in 2009 by three testers who chose QA as a craft, not a career stepping stone. Fifteen years later, that conviction is unchanged. The scale is different.
spriteCloud started in 2009, when the company its three founders tested for went bankrupt. They could have scattered into corporate testing jobs. Instead they rented a small office in Leiden and set out to prove that a small, specialised team could out-test the big corporate firms, at a price a digital agency could afford.
The founding market was digital agencies: fast-moving, deadline-driven, no time to build internal test capability. spriteCloud offered something different: experienced testers who could work at agency pace, embedded in the team, without the overhead of a permanent hire.
That model still defines how we work. It just scales further than it used to. The same approach that helped a Leiden agency ship on time in 2009 is now applied at enterprise scale at Ahold Delhaize, Heineken, and PostNL, with a team of 50+ specialists across two cities and more than 20 nationalities.
We have never diversified away from QA. Every person at spriteCloud chose testing as their profession. That focus is the thing we are most deliberate about protecting.

values
Not a list of corporate aspirations. These are the things that determine how we behave when no one is watching.
Frequent and transparent communication. We share what we know, including the uncomfortable things, with clients and with each other.
Easy to work with. We are not the firm that sends a weekly status email and disappears. We are in your Slack, in your stand-up, in your team.
Doing it right when no one is looking. We chose this as our definition because it is the only one that survives contact with reality.
People who care find the edge cases. People who don’t miss them.
Due regard for the requirements, expectations, and value of others. That includes the end user who will hit the bug we didn't find.
culture
spriteCloud is not a body shop. We are not a staffing agency that happens to specialise in QA. We are a community of people who find the craft of testing genuinely interesting, and who want to work with others who feel the same way.
That shows in how we hire and in how we retain people. Our attrition is low because the work is real. Specialists get to work on hard problems with experienced colleagues. Junior testers learn from people who have built automation frameworks from scratch, run tabletop incident response exercises, and found critical security vulnerabilities in production systems.
We take any excuse to get together: sprint retrospectives, quarterly socials, celebrating a big launch. The Amsterdam and Barcelona teams make a point of spending real time together. That investment in connection is what makes the remote collaboration work when it needs to.
